Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon 2021: Registration is OPEN

So I have decided to give myself a birthday present to celebrate my 3Xth birthday — I have received plenty loads of kind and inspiring birthday wishes. So to you all who took time to drop in my DMs, WA etc, Thank You!

Yup.. So what is this birthday present ??

I have decided to join the virtual Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2021! I think I missed the bus last year, but because I am ‘coincidentally’ looking for a reason to run, and be training again, this event can’t be missed out. CK, a shoutout to you as I saw on your socmed platform (your bib lah!).. So I went straight for it and got myself registered for this event in November.

If you have not signed up, its quite a straight forward process and the best thing about it is the quick registration procedure. Love the registration page. You can choose to have the medal engraved with your name, choice of short AND long sleeve, and other SCKLM souvenirs. Registration fee is: FREE from 3/8/2021 to 18/11/2021<— Yup !

You will be issued a virtual bib, and can also upload your SCKLM photo after the registration.

In case you are wondering how it works, refer to the guideline below taken from the 21.1km individual info page:

‘ Ensure that you complete the full distance in one run (one continuous effort) by 28 November 2021 (GMT+8) and submit your record by 11.59 pm, 30 November 2021 (GMT+8).

Please note that the top 5 individual category finishers (male and female) for all distances and age groups, and the top 5 team category finishers for all distances will need to submit additional records (screenshots of heart rate, cadence and splits) for verification by 11.59 pm, 13 December 2021 (GMT+8). Failure to do so may result in automatic disqualification.’

InsyaAllah I will share updates on my training progress here or on my IG handle with same handle as this blog 🙂 If you have not registered, consider registering.. we all need to ensure our mental and physical health are well-balanced, including that of the soul too. I understanding running brings various kind of relief to us, especially if you do not take running literally or for the sake of race completion. Bring in the joy, passion, and the right to enjoy the adrenaline and feel good that running brings!

Those who are new to running, do take it one step at a time. Having a medium to long term goals will definitely be beneficial when selecting for your next few races. I am just keen to start running actively again, and to hit that finish line in November virtually along side all of you will definitely be the highlight.
