Jan – Apr 2012 : Day-to-day

Salam and greeting weekenders !! How has your week been ? More importantly, how was your weekend ?! Manage to spring clean the house? Exercise? Training ? Or catching up the lost time finishing that novel? Spent mine with la familia, and today managed a 1/2 hour swim, followed by a light gym session (weight training). How my muscles shivered is just a mere evidence how much I am in my low-season. Friends been asking me if I am signed up for any races etc. I wanted to do the SF Ultra, what more after being offered a sponsorship offer from Sabah ! Work took a front, so is the new-not-so-new married life πŸ™‚ Yeah, I’ve been married nearly 4 months now ! πŸ™‚

The bicycle is collecting dust if not cobweb, as I hardly can find time to cycle nowadays. What’s regular for me nowadays is to either swim or run on the weekends. Struggling to fit in any workout session during workdays yo ! Last week, ran/walked @ FRIM and swam. This week, swam again.. Mang…I need to more of this healthy stuff. Exercise aside, FOOD…lets see if I can do better this coming week. With the new-not-so-new work place, there is not much choice except for the local food, unless I pack lunch. Anyways.. just some rambling of mine. But no worries, I still look the same even if you happen to see me tomorrow. Just the same. Just the body fat increasing LOL !!Β

Work-life Balance :Β Life-Work Balance : I dislike the notion of ‘being tied to work’. It shouldn’t be, though the really says it has been that way. If I am going to stick with this kinda mind set, I can become VERY unhealthy, mentally, physically and spiritually. Life is a journey, and while we use half of that journey to work and look for resources to support our temporary life here on earth, it wouldn’t be to the expense of scarifying what really means to us, our primary obligations to ourselves and those dear to us. So there, my simple version of work-life balance.

I have though caught up with an old hobby. Reading πŸ™‚ I did splurge on a couple of books last month. Will Β enjoy my time reading them hopefully ! Keeps me alive in a way. YouTubing ‘ilm/knowledge which I should be showering myself with, on various topics. Use the tech and internet wisely people ! And not surprisingly, I have been Facebooking and Twittering less and less. I do read your updates (if I am in list). A silent observer. Just like some of you on missjewelz.wordpress.com ! *chuckles* Anyways, some photos below to wrap up this short post. πŸ™‚ Thanks for dropping by !! p.s. rumour is confirmed that Powerman this year will be in Putrajaya. πŸ™‚

Trail session @ FRIM last week.
Something to be proud of !!!! πŸ™‚ an invitation from the Japanese ambassador to Malaysia πŸ™‚ I can so frame this invitation. My team and I organized the 'The To Japan With Love' charity event last year (in conjunction of my maiden 100km feat at Sundown Ultra).A big thank you to all of you who contributed and supported the charity event. Thank you !
Let's see if any of you reading this can guess which machine is this. Taken this morning at the gym.
Working out and reading the news at the same time ! So much so it grabbed my attention and I HAD to capture it as a learning input for all you reading this. Leave the papers when you're at the gym. Just so inappropriate.

  1. welcome back Jules. Wk-Life Balance is a myth. Change it to Life-Work Balance. Wile one pays the bill, one is what we are there for – LIFE.

I am glad since making that switch from consulting world (though it is exciting and non-stop, enjoyable until victimization at work takes place), life could not be better.

I wish the same for you. While it is important to give 101% at work like how we did when we race, remember that we re all only human. πŸ™‚

    Meet up soon!

    • Thanks Stupe. By right, (and sounding more right) , Life should be considered first as it encompasses work. Congrats to you for making that switch !! Lucky me I did not (almost did) land there. Thanks for the reminder again Stupe. πŸ™‚
