A few minor dramas this AM. Woke up late and missed the 6.00am train from Cyberjaya to Lukut. A 120km ride but was planning to do 1/2 way before turning back with my support car. This morning cyclist tak bangun, driver support car pon tak bangun. haha. Lucky Kabi was OK with the back up cum ad hoc plan to do a 60-70km. So MTDC-Petronas LCCT and back. Quite a relaxed ride. Surprised myself by doing the stand climb up De Palma as usually I’ll be sitting down. Heart rate soared like a Concorde as I went up hill. Not bad as I recovered quite quickly after that. Kabi was a sport. Didn’t push the speed and was enthusiastically promoting mountain climbing to me. Rather interesting !! Will do it anytime soon but first gotta strengthen em knee first.
Today drove WITHOUT the Garmin.. I ‘just’ realized I have been to dependent on it… (i should chuck it aside for a week and see what happens).. OK, so, pagi2 dah call my friend to ask for direction to Bangi ! Horror kan orang KL nieh..hihih.. I didn’t register for Mizuno Wave 10k Run (happening tomorrow).. yesterday already planned to pirate the race. Good thing Kabi suggested that I shold just go to UPM and ask at the race kit collection counter if there are any numbers left for Women Open. I did just that !! And…I was the LAST to register for Women Open !!! So, ada hikmahnye la I missed the other ride !
Saw Mac and Adeline as I was just to start my ride..after the ride nak ke UPM also..problem..! gosh..me and navigation.. I gotta fix it !! ok, so Kabi directed me .. sampai lah jugak eventhough ada keliling dunia kejap.. registered, collected race bib for another friend, then off I went. Manage to catch up with the guys from Totalfield manning the Powerbar booth (got new flavour >> Apple..!!), adik Fitri and family, Deti, Ajak, my Pacesetters friends. Yim, thanks for the photos !! I upload a few here ok.
Later went to the top up my petrol.. and after that nak start the car tak boleh la pulak !!!! Waited for 10-15mins baru boleh start.. Anyways, I am writing this in a rush.. after this to PD. Back by ..midnight..and..run tomorrow ! Those running Mizuno, hope to see you guys tomorrow. 🙂 I’m having a 10k fun run, join me if our pace lebih kurang .. See ya !

p.s. I was only supporting last year, BUT i know the 11k course tomorrow is hilly.. Some tips :
#1 take small steps when you climb..practice ‘cadencing’ during the run. light and small steps.
#2 keep your back straight, dont hunch.. as you climb the hill bring your centre of gravity closer to the ground -> bring your upper body angle closer to the ground
#3 swing those arms, they help you proper forward
#4 hydrate well, but dont OVER hydrate, you can get cramps also by doing this
#5 float as you go down hill. instead of putting force to descend a hill, let the gravity ‘pull’ you down and forward hence ‘floating’. Control using your ankle and knee joint
#6 smile and cheer others passing you 🙂 Happy running folks !

PLEASE DO NOT BRING/LEAVE ANY VALUABLE ITEMS IN YOUR CAR !!!!! IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW LAST YEAR (AT MIZUNO WAVE RUN) QUITE A NUMBER OF CARS GOT SMASHED DURING THE RUN, VALUABLES STOLEN ETC. INFORM YOUR FRIENDS WHO ARE GOING TOMORROW OK.
