Wishing all my Muslim friends, readers and fellow bloggers a Happy Ramadhan (what’s left of it). Ramadhan marks a new beginning for us, every year, to refresh our ‘system’, bodily and spiritually. Let’s work and pray to ensure that the spirit of Ramadhan will be brought forward throughout the next 11 months before we experience another Ramadhan. Shawal is not about feasting, or getting new dresses and curtains. What is the real essence of Ramadhan, and Eid al Fitr ? Some friends don’t feel like its Ramadhan, while some (including myself) feel that Eid al Fitr (raya) has lost its meaning, in the Malaysian sense of it..

Anyways, I don’t want to sound so serious already 🙂 Though I must share with you my feeling over an incident which rocked the nation today… its all over the news today… a woman and her 10 year old son was found murdered in their home in Port Dickson.. the woman’s husband was in Egypt at the time this incident happened and was actually looking forward to meet his beloved family for raya. Little did he know that he would be back in Malaysia even before raya to see his family members, dead. Its really unfortunate and sad to be knowing that someone out there is going through this.. the murder..the shock.. Dalam riang ria kita menyambut Syawal, beringatlah selalu kepada semua Muslimin dan Muslimat ..yang gugur mahupun yang masih hidup.Here are a few links about the incident :

And to all of you traveling back to your hometowns this raya season, please please please observe the speed limit. Put on your safety belts (driver and passengers). Plan your trip well to avoid the massive jam as well as check that your vehicles are ‘prepared’ for the long journey.
