I woke up 8 hits too late it seems. My blog has reached the 100k mark. π I’ve mentioned 20k ago that I do have plans to do some ‘interior design’ for this page but my designer is busy at the moment.
I don’t know how does 100k measure in the stats for daily personal blogs. I don’t even know where most of my visitors come from though I do know my tri friends who visit this blog π tq guys. I know triathletes as far as France,Portugal and Germany have actually dropped by.
In commemoration to this humble milestone, I would like thank, credit and bow to these brothers and sisters who have supported this blog in many ways, either by dropping comments, exchanging links, telling me that they do follow my blog, encouraging me to write more and that they have benefited from my articles, those who bumped into me during sports events and introduce themselves and say that they do read missjewelz.wordpress.com.. 1 or 2 have even mentioned to me that they’re my fans.. To all of you, Terima Kasih ! Thank You !! π Thank you also to all bloggers who have inspired me to blog π
Some history here.. I’ve liked writing since I was a child. It was a second to reading. Mummy, I’ve to credit you for this. She got me my 1st set of encyclopedias.. I was and am still proud of them. Books, story books were like treasure,I didn’t have/like as many toys as my siblings later on,but no big deal about it. I resorted to books, and this red_yellow coloured spelling machine which my got from toys r us. Mummy taught me how to spell the word cartoon.. Hahahah..this I clearly remembered.. And also how to pronounce the word mosque.before she corrected me I was pronouncing it as ‘mos-Q’ ! She’d get me an Enid Blyton’s everytime she went to the Times or Toys r us,or when she’s traveling. And from enid blyton, to roald dahls, nancy drew’s, hardy boys,.. I remembered having a list of all the books I’ve read..(Errr and also the movies I’ve watched). It served as a personal satisfaction really. Came primary 6,I upgraded to Fear Street books, John Grisham, and poked through my dad’s collection of John Grisham and Tom Clancy. Oh ya, and how could I forget the game books.
In 1997 I went to boarding school. Though I did already have a mobile phone, I had to leave it at home. How did I communicate with mum? Snail mail yo! My mum has a beautiful handwriting which I very much envy,to which there’s nothing much that I can do to save mine.. Mine is simply disastrous. But when there’s a point to write to some one of course I’ll make sure they’re readable. Ok, so my mum was my 1st pen-pal. π in 1998 I went to TKC. By this time I already had more pen-pals; my friends from my previous schools Sri Utama,SMART,old flames from neighbouring schools.. Hahaha.. I recall during my boarding years in TKC, the mail box would always be the 1st place I go in the afternoons during lunch break. Prep time would turn to letter reading and replying sessions. I was pretty much into the world of writing ‘letter’ that time, and naturally all the years this enthusiast for writing letters and love for books have blended well and somehow spilled into my actual ability to write and share my thought. I obviously am not the best of writers,in fact far from one. Plus through the recent years I am not able to indulge to reading as I am busy with my academics that I do not as much leisure as I had before to enjoy the books that I’ve bought.in fact as I write this, I’ve several fictions lining up to be read. After my finals hopefully. I must admit, quality of writing depends on how you read; how much, what kind of books.. i realize that when im ‘off’ from reading for so long..like 3-4 years.. my writings can be a bit dry or complicated. But if you’ve been following this page, you would know by now the kind of writing style I’m using and that I love to post edited fotos !! I have to salute Sofian Ismail, Haza Zean, Kash for their incredible blogs π love the language, love the style π
The email culture hit me in 1996 but it can never match the satisfaction and ‘gains’ that I got from writing snail mails. π as for blogging, I’ve been blogging since 2004 at missjewelz.blogspot.com. In fact I had an earlier blog before that using the cjb.net. I took a break from blogging August 06 till March 07 and in the following month I started missjewelz.wordpress.com and my 1st few post was on the Afamosa Tri (race report).
